Hello Possums!

I'm back from vaca.

What did I miss?????? .... Apart from....

The US election now having Vice President nominees.
It's all but certain Canada's going to the election polls first.
The company that caused the huge explosion here three weeks ago, not doing a thing to clean up the debris (Quelle surprise!!!!)
An outbreak of listeriosis bacteria deaths from faulty production of processed/cured meats.
The Canadian Gymnastics organization washing their hands of a 14 year old olympic hopeful who broke her neck in practice in July.
David Duchovny and his sex addiction.

Starting Saturday, for a week. It's my annual total veg-out vacation.

I'm heading north to Cottage Country with my parents to a nice rustic resort on the lake my mum has gone to since she was 4 years old. The island in my icon is on that lake.

Delicious breakfasts and dinners
Coffee on the deck overlooking the lake
Time to read the newspaper at a leisurely pace
Lots of lounge chairs lakeside and on top of a boathouse in the sun, just waiting for me
Books to read
Sports kayaks to paddle around in
Small towns nearby with giftshops to browse

But no internet. So I'll be offline for the week.
