Oh Crap -- transit strike!

The transit workers' union has just announced they're going out on strike Monday if they don't get a good offer by Sunday afternoon.
As much as I like walking, 2.5 hours EACH WAY every day is not my idea of fun, especially when the home-bound trip is UP HILL.
I'm weighing alternatives. Probably best one is to get a second hand bike if I can.
