Where were you when the lights went out?
Aug. 14th, 2008 07:43 amIt was five years ago today that a massive blackout threw much of eastern North America into darkness for at least 12 hours.
I was at work at 4:11 when the power blew..
I had the only radio --- a little walkman with speakers, so I knew pretty quickly what was going on. I walked around the office holding it up so everyone could hear.
We were let go about 1/2 hour after the power went off. I walked home most of the way with three gals I didn't normally work with. It took me 2 hours to get home and it was mostly uphill. Good workout.
